RONCO MARGHERITA

A STORY OF LOVE AND WINE

In addition to the approximately 12 hectares distributed between Pinzano hills and the Magredi area near Dandolo, in the municipality of Maniago, our company also has a large production in Colli Orientali del Friuli area.
Our product range includes fine local wines as Picolit, Friulano, Refosco and still and sparkling Ribolla, and international wines such as Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Our blend Ovalis is aged in French oak barrel for 18 months and is produced with a selection of Merlot, Refosco and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Starting from 2016 you will taste our wines from native grapes of Pinzano: Forgiarin, Ucelut, Picolit Neri and Sciaglin. These wines, exclusive heritage of our territory, was planted and grown thanks to the expert hand of Ruggero Forti.

We have also selected informations about local products and suggestions of itineraries involving Ronco Margherita winery, to discover and touch the Friulian wine combined with nearby area resources.

RONCO MARGHERITA SOILS

Soils because Ronco Margherita Winery has its production in three different areas of Friuli Venezia Giulia: Pinzano al Tagliamento, where is also located our headquarter, in the heart of Magredi in Dandolo area, and in Colli Orientali del Friuli area, near Manzano.

This is one of the most important assets of our winery: our wines are a fusion of characteristics and typicality of three areas so different and so important for the Friulian winemaking tradition.
The soil in viticulture is very important as supply of water and mineral salts, which influence a lot both grapes and wine; vine is a plant that adapts itself to any type of soil but the same vine will not give same grapes if grown in soils with a different composition and characteristics.
The vine, unlike common belief, does not require fertile land but instead likes more arid ground.
